Music Producer ‘Quincy’ Simon Evans first started out in the music busines playing Guitar and Bass in many different Rock and Punk outfits in the late 1980’s in the Essex and London area gaining a wealth of live experience, also around this time he first started experimenting with music production by recording all of his bands own demos.
From a young age he always had a real interest in recording music and first started doing sessions at the age of 18 experimenting with Rock, Pop and Dance music. As the Dance and Pop music scene started to take a hold on the charts in the early 1990’s, he formed the underground Pop band ‘Page 1’ and co-produced the group’s first demonstration recordings, which later landed ‘Page 1’ a major management contract and production deal. Along with the rest of band he began to tour the UK and Europe playing along side top chart acts of the time like Boy George, East 17, Boy Zone and Odyssey to name but a few. This also enabled him to work in more high end recording studios in London. Later becoming a member of the Boyband ‘Catch 22’ in 1996 and with the release of the bands single ‘Baby Said I’ (produced by JJ Belle) he began to gain more recording experience with some of the country’s top music producers. Along with some TV appearances on ITV’s This Morning, BBC 1’s Style Challenge and Channel Fives, 5’s Company.
During this time ‘Quincy’ Simon’s passion for recording really started to take a grip of him as he started to learn and master his trade. Over the years he was fortunate enough to work, learn and gain experience with top producers like Steve McIntosh and Joe Charles (The Cool Notes, PWL) Mike Hedges (The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees) Andy Whitmore (Elton John, Peter Andre, Terence Trent D’Arby) And at Abbey Road Studios working with the late great Chris Blair (The Beatles, Queen,UB40 and Radiohead) Over the last few years ‘Quincy’ Simon has been co-writing and producing an album for local Rap artist MCDJ. He also produced all the music and wrote a track for The Samantha Boyd School of Dance, Ballet and Modern dance production ‘In Bloom’ which was a two night sell out show at The Basildon Towngate Theatre in May 2019. And now finally after gaining years of experience working as a local Freelance Producer ‘Quincy’ Simon and his partner Emma Holford Evans have now decided to launch their own production company to record, advise and help develop artists.
